2. Water thats too hot dries out your skin, so no hot baths or showers

3. Moisturise day and night, even if you have oil prone skin as it still requires hydration.

4. Sleep on your back to stop creasing on your face and décolletage and also ensure you are changing your pillowcase often enough.

5. A double cleanse does double the work. One cleanse is not normally enough to completely clean skin, especially at night. The first cleanse is to loosen and reduce surface dirt, pollutionand makeup. The second cleanse ensures the skin is clean and clear of impurities. Joanne Evans recommends use of an oil for the first cleanse, followed by a wash or lotion. If you have oily skin, in the morning you can do a light cleanse to remove excess oils and if dry then there is no need to cleanse; just wash to refresen skin.

6. Although convenient, face wipes strip our skin of natural oils and cause skin to produce excess oils. If you are going to use a cleaning wipe use as your first cleanse for make up and dirt and that second cleanse needs to be a really good one. How you cleanse is important work up your cleanser so it is warm for optimum deep cleansing. Also don't forgot cleansing along hairline and down your neck.

7. Grained scrubs are harsh on skin. People over use and over scrub, damaging our skins barrier; making the skin red and irritated, as well as breaking capillaries. Scrubbing and rubbing of the skin unnecessarily and harshly can stimulate more oil. But don't overuse scrubs. Use a gentle chemical-based exfoliant (one that contains glycolic) and skip harsh granules or micro-breads and do avoid the skin near your eyes.

6. This season is the perfect time to spring clean skin. Facials are beneficial to all skin types, no matter how regular or thorough your home skin routine. Helping to target a variety of skin issues including brown spots, discolouration, clogged pores, dried out and post-breakout marks as well as improving overall skin health. A facial is recommended once a month but for more lifting every 2 weeks, keeping skin clean, clear and toned. If budgets are low, especially at this time of year, a facial once every season is recommended.
