It's game on ladies, but don’t sweat it; this look is simple and you don’t have to squeeze yourself into lycra to rock this trend.

With the Olympics just around the corner, this look takes inspiration from the athletes, transforming sportswear into stylish, sexy pieces.

A plethora of racer-front vests, crop tops, high-top trainers and luxury joggers have hit the high-street in a multitude of performance fabrics such as neoprene, leather, cotton all with a splash of neon.

From the fashionably-flamboyant to the more wearable pieces, there are plenty of options to suit all budgets and tastes.

Opt for a flattering racer-back crop neon vest, like this one from American Apparel with drop armholes for a relaxed, stylish look. This vest will work with a multitude of pieces such as slouchy, tapered trousers, running shorts and a leather jacket. If you don’t feel confident enough for the crop vest, alternatively choose a long neon vest top from American Apparel with a relaxed, loose fit, that will flatter your shape.

The cool, floaty fabric is perfect for taking on holiday, as it won’t take up too much space in your suitcase and will look great thrown over a bikini on the beach. Otherwise, dress it up in the evening with shorts, heels and statement jewellery to radiate holiday glamour.

Work your vest tops with a pair of sportswear-inspired trousers, like the Lilo silk tapered trousers from My Wardrobe.

Add fine, sheer layers, a leather jacket and chunky wedge sandals to create a luxuriously stylish ensemble. These high-top metallic wedges by Ash are back by popular demand. They will look great with trousers, shorts or dresses to instantly radiate the Sports Luxe trend! Alternatively, if you prefer to wear flat shoes then opt for these aerobic wedge heel trainers from Topshop which have been a huge sell-out and are an excellent way to easily stylise an outfit.

The beauty of Sports Luxe is that there are options to suit all shapes and sizes. This causal, tie-dyed sweater from Mango will look super sporty with a pair of tapered trousers and white pumps for a relaxed weekend outfit.

Finally, I love this soft and drapey dress by Imari from Toast which comes in a range of sportswear-inspired colours. Pair the dress with a cropped jacket such as this grey lined jacket by Fahri for an on-trend hit.

Opt for a more feminine take on the trend with this sporty texturised skirt from Warehouse. The drawstring waist will flatter your tummy and hips and will perfect when combined with a slouchy vest top and sporty Ray-Ban shades. Work this skirt in the evening with chunky gold jewellery, towering leather wedges and neon clutch bag.
